The mission of the R&D programme of BCC Biopharmacy is to focus Malaysian
resources on R&D in support of the manufacturing and commercialization
of biopharmaceutical products and novel drug delivery systems also to
advance integrated biopharmaceutical research in Malaysia to meet the
healthcare demands of the 21st century.
To establish a biopharmaceutical
based industry in Malaysia capitalising on the emergence of generic biopharnaceuticals
and the need for novel drug delivery systems
Increase the capability
of Malaysia to develop novel drug delivery systems and manufacture biopharmaceuticals
through local research and innovation, training, education, experience,
technology transfer and local and international.
Identify and review existing
resources in Malaysia
Develop
research competency in
novel drug delivery systems
formulation, preclinical and clinical trials of biopharmaceuticals
Generate platform technologies
for production of biotechnology-based biopharmaceuticals under GMP conditions.
Interact
and collaborate with private sector for the successful development and production
of useful biopharmaceuticals.
