Biotechnology Promotion Program is meant to provide basic exposure and awareness towards biotechnology among students and teachers.

Malaysia has taken an active step of bringing biotechnology closer with a program that was successfully initiated on 27th October 2001 in Sarikei, Sarawak.

Purpose

Biotechnology Promotion Programme is meant to provide basic exposure and awareness towards biotechnology among students and teachers.

Objective

	To improve the understanding of biotechnology among school students and teachers
	To increase the understanding of latest biotechnology's development among school students and teachers
	To provide basic exposure and guidance regarding career opportunities in biotechnology amongst students
	To attract interest among students to further study in science
	To produce students with high awareness on the latest issues in biotechnology

Extraction of DNA chromosome Do onion have DNA? To isolate DNA from onion and twirl it from solution Macroscopic observation of DNA physical in solution form		DNA fingerprinting Be an investigator! Introduction of DNA fingerprinting technique - everybody has different pattern of DNA Showing the students two essential methods utilized in forensic analysis, which are gel electrophoresis and digestion of DNA fragments by restriction enzymes
'Liku-liku DNA' board game An interactive way to give introduction and more understanding as well as self-discovery of biotechnology via games among students.		Multi-media's activity Explains to students on exposure and understanding of the following aspects: > Application of Biotechnology > Personalities in Biotechnology > DNA structure > Genetic engineering > Genome Project > Professions in biotechnology, etc
Giant Dice Game A game that explains the facts and figures of biotechnology and how it contributes to the nations economic development		Dolly Board Game The game introduce students the basic principles of cloning and emphasis on social and ethical issues that arises from the cloning process.
Biotechnology Board Game A game that explains the basic terms in biotechnology and also with some example and explanations.
